  1. Why is there a limit at all to recursion? It is pretty easy to not have a limit, aside from memory space of course. Wouldn't even need multiple stack frames.

  2. I’m a web developer. I had no idea what he was talking about 😂

  3. This guy is smart, I hope I could someone as experienced as him one day

  4. Some people just makes coding feel so exciting, I hope I can learn it someday.

  5. You need recursion to traverse tree like structures like directories or web sites but it is often better to handle with explicit stack manipulation because then you can save state and restart your algorithm from the point that it stopped. If you use functions to implicitly handle stacks that state is hidden from you and can't be restored.

  6. Loops are faster for the computer, recursion is faster for the coder

  7. i want this guy to read me bedtime stories

  8. A very practical recursion problem is finding the best combination out of a set of values to reach a target value.

For instance, your cereal might come in a 300g box that is filled by combining 4 to 6 buckets of 50-80g each out of 24 buckets on a combination weigher to get the final weight closest to 300g that isn't under 300g. Not an easy task to generate every possible combination of 4 to 6 buckets and check which one is best without recursion and a bit of pruning.

  9. the Ackermann's function.

  10. Watch Inception, you will understand recursion.

  11. nice Presentation of the Problem thanks 🙂

  12. 11:33 better out then in i always say

  13. The recursive problem of studying computer science on YouTube

    error: it's 3AM you're out of memory

  14. this man is one of those rare people who you like to keep listening to and learn from!! RESPECT!
I wish i could be your student! Really knowledgeable and explaining things really nicely.
I must admit I learned from you here, even after almost 17 years of programming experience.

  15. I saw a black cat, then I saw another black cat

  16. Why is this video vibrating slightly?

  17. I was told during my assembler class at my University when studying for my Electronics degree that you don't have loops in assembler

  18. This guy is so natural. I love it

  19. I expected to learn when to use recursion instead of loops

  20. I always seem to come back to this video 🙂

  21. i am an elctrical engineer i i was looking for recursive functions for signal storage I saw your video and I loved it

  22. Great explanation and content

  23. Muddy gum boots. I need to use this more often.

  24. This guy must me a very cool grandpa! I'd love to talk about nerd stuff like this with a grandfather with that kind of treasure trove of knowledge who is so happy to share his knowledge. He's very wholesome!

  25. Here's the difference. Recursion gives me a stack trace a megabyte long and a loop gives one a couple lines long lol.

  26. Informative video! But could you still the camera? The slight wobble gives an annoying sense of vertigo.

  27. Thank so much for magnificent explanation ❤️❤️❤️
