  1. Yes, referral bonus is not new and companies offering handsome amount but not that much 😀

  2. I just got my first job as a web developer at the age of 34 with just HTML/ CSS and JS. No degree, no relevant experience. Self taught in like 5 months. The interviewer seemed to prioritize looking for someone who was a good fit and willing to learn.

  3. I am seeing the same in the Market, In fact I never thought I would have a chance at one of the FANG companies to even get to an interview, but was just approached recently from one of the FANG companies recruiters and am currently going through interview process

  4. I know a case where they are giving 1500-2000 dollars for referral where an average salary in my country is 800 dollars :))

  5. I'm studying full stack development from Treehouse right now. I'm really hoping I will be qualified in the near future so I can get in on this. I've had so many opportunities in my life go to shit, for a large variety of reasons, but this is the one I feel is actually in my control. I want a change in my life, and I'm just hoping like hell that this will be my ticket.

  6. Yeah I heard that people were crying and upset from being overworked. Not sure if it’s true! But I guess that’s why the remote is more appealing now.

  7. i am currently studying in sweden to become an embedded software developer and have ish 8 month left and i am aleready getting companies contacting me via linkedin asking if im interested to work for them. and all of em say when they hear i still still in school they all ask me to contact them when i get close to finishing. never had this happen to me before. its a wierd feeling getting companies "fighting" to get u to work for them even before u are done with education.

  8. Still have to have senior dev level skills to get hired anywhere. Really over it. Giving up

  9. I get the remote work is very appealing, but for Jr Devs it is absolutely a nightmare work wise. Onboarding virtually was a pain and i am constantly waiting for senior devs to see my teams message that i have a question or need help. Started finally going in office recently and it is getting better with more Devs around that i can physically go ask questions to.

  10. When I get a job, i’m still going to be applying. I’ll be learning while getting paid until my next gig 🙂

  11. I’m in the DC area. As an associate/entry level software engineer it’s been pretty difficult to land a gig. I’m trying to network, do hackathons, build projects, apply, algo’s, and interview every day. Competition is rough.

  13. Hey guys, would you suggest me to accept a job at the office for 1 or 2 years, even if I love working from anywhere (digital nomad), just because I am a junior developer? And then finally be able to request the company to go remote, after the beginning period?
    Thanks

  14. Biggest lie i was told was there’s a shortage in Software. There isn’t, companies want experienced workers but thats true for any profession. If there was a true shortage then graduates would be receiving multiple job offers without applying

  15. Will employers hold weight to projects that I am currently working on? I been putting in progress projects on my resume recently.

  16. Can you make a video top 5 concepts or skills learned that were most essential in your programming career

  17. I love your workspace and it has a good natural light source I am so jelly

  18. Hey does anyone know what notebook he has sitting on his desk?

  19. As in an entry level developer I've been applying like crazy and still no dice at all. Still keeping the energy up.

  20. I have been applying since July and I still cannot find a job. I have completely re-done my profile twice, changed my resume I send out 3 times and I still can't land a job. I've had only 3 – 4 interviews only. Wtf is wrong? What am I doing wrong? I'm self taught and have about 30 projects in my github. Absolutely any tips would be super cool.

  21. Why remote working is so desired by devs?
Ik its more comfortable and more flexible for a dev's personal life, but i think the office environment and having co-workers is important especially for junior devs.

  22. For senior devs yes. I’m an entry level dev right out of college and getting cold emails for senior positions only. It’s a joke. Entry level are spat on

  23. in several big tech companies, they offered me considerably less money than startups offer, so I ended up going to a startup
