  1. Damn, that lecturer has an amazing voice and just oozes with charisma. He needs to do standup comedy, I swear

  2. OMG, in 2021 still I see the sense in your jokes, and it's amazing how you do this. Thanks, this was really informative.

  3. 9:15

    10:40 gotta remember

    14:00 truuueeeeee

    21:35 :goal

    41:15 important

  4. I’m going to buy every single one of his books.

  5. He's been coding for 30 years and he says "here's what i'm learning" now that's what we call humility

  6. I've only watched it quarter way and its like my memory is back now…… I thought I never understood what I've been learning untill I watched this video and everything is now on my finger tips. THANKYOU! sooooo much for making this.

  7. Thank you i needed this, is ok to feel stupid sometimes while doing code.

  8. "I'm the only person in the world fluent in Spapanese!"
Excuse me sir, I'd like a word.

  9. Hold on this is an ad for python! Nice talk tho

  10. "Code is there to explain the comments to the computer" 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  11. Love you, you're amazing. And I wish people would laugh more about your great jokes and your lovely way to talk about the topic!

  12. watched in one go, very informative, I'll do my best in apllying your way of thinking in my coding, thanks!

  13. how to think like a programmer: think nothing will work but then when you test it, it works and you throw a mini party in your head

  14. God if only I had a teacher like him, I mean holy shit 😀

  15. Representing The Odin Project!

  16. Step 1: Become nihilistic and shove everything into simple models. Step 2: Have many suicidal nervous breakdowns. Step 3: Be stuck on disability and alone for life at your mom's house.

  17. Great lecture! This helped me push through a bout of imposter syndrome last night. If I could like this video 1000 times more, I would.

  18. I got a spending ticket one time. Court ordered a defensive driving course……signs up for Andy Harris Presents: "How Not to Drive Like an Ass Munch."

  19. If Bobcat Goldthwait was an exceptional teacher/programmer.

  20. this is misleading, Im successful at programming because I memorize syntax, you have to know the language to actually program. What i was expecting to hear was memorizing a step by step set of instructions to program, that doesn't work and will never work, one has to be the computer and literally run through the code in their heads without memorizing and take creative leaps.

  21. this man is so good that just by hearing him i solved my coding exam lmao

  22. Great talk, I will say this I find programming comments are rarely helpful.

We spend 90% percent of the time reading code as opposed to writing it.

So less to read the better.

  23. Four years now and still feel like a beginner. So! You are right.

  24. There are a lot of videos will break down python in a ton of detail but this talks more about programming fundamentals. Very helpful

  25. Just seeing this and I am learning c++ and I am confused what everything means LOL but I am learning and understanding kinda.

  26. I'm back to watch this video again

  27. If anyone knows any other vids that would be GREAT for beginners plz let me know. I need a new career or else I will be on disability permanently. TIA

  28. This guy is 10% signal and 90% noise. As an example, he adds two strings rather than integers, but it takes him more than five minutes of screwing around when he could’ve just explained the mistake in 30 seconds. Lots of inside jokes (which are really just thinly veiled efforts at boasting) which aren’t funny, but he thinks are HILARIOUS. Read “How to Think Like a Computer Scientist” instead.

  29. 36:45 I lmao'd when the program said 3 + 5 = 35 🤣🤣 really illustrates the point that computers aren't very smart

  30. I swear I’ll never neglect adding comments to my code. Or I’ll never leave it for the last hour before an assignment is due.

  31. Hope all teachers are understandable as you!
