  1. i love your videos chris and i like your concept BUT as someone who tried to learn self taught i would say 6 months is very little time to learn everything that you need to land a JOB the era where you could learn HTML , CSS AND basic JavaScript and copy and paste some functionalities is LONG GONE i think that web development and other technology Jobs and careers have been commercialized ALOT and the junior positions have been flooded even with people that arent even passionate with code as they were promised a high paying Job , that being said if you try to get a job on the field HTML , CSS and Javascript is NOT enough to get the foot in the door not to mention you have to compete the JR positions with college graduates and boot camp graduates self taught kids are in the bottom of the chain , this is only my opinion at the end it all comes down on how hard you worked for it , good luck all .

  2. I have learned to date HTML and CSS,and i´m currently studying javascript, man this video is so inspiring i tell you that.
    keep it up.
    Greetings from Argentina!

  3. Thanks dude! Great video.

  4. very useful information

  5. This is the motivation and learning structure I have been looking for. I am currently learning backend development and I am so going to use this plan and structure to keep me focused and on track – legend.

  6. I spent 10 hours p/day studying and after 9 months I got my first frontend Job(html, css, javascript and react. After 1 year working I got a new job working for a great company as a mid level.
Now I'm learning Rust because I pretend work with blockchain soon 🙂

  7. question, use react.js for even simple landing pages? isn't that overkill?

  8. Thanks for the info! stayed until the end!

  9. I can't understand what he is saying in month 5? React something??

  10. Hey Chris, wanted to thank you for this video. Ive been at a dead end job for many years and stress out a lot for my future. 15. Found this video a few days ago. You have inspired me to work towards this goal while I'm going back to college so I'll be ready by the time I get my degree!! Thank you so much for spreading your positivity and advice! You rock!

  16. I still think im going to do a certified study here in The Netherlands just for an extra paper, its actually just verry expensive courses done in a classroom. Before that I will just continue to study everyday and build more projects now.

  17. Bro I don't know you i don't know if I'll ever meet you in person but if I do imma give you a fckn hug man.You are an inspiration to so many people and you seem to really care about helping people who want to get into this world. The world needs more people like you bro thank you for real you are amazing man pls never stop this ,bcs when someone has true passion it's showing. Im currently without a father working a shit job trying to get a degree in political sciences which i dont like so i can focus all my time on learning code for a better life and I'm really kinda scared cuz I quit my job yesterday so i can do all those things. I know most of yall dont care but really bro you keep me inspired and motivated so i just wanna say thank you from the bottom of my heart imma really put the work in!Hope you see this and understand how many people you are helping by sharing your knowledge!

  18. Glad I found this. 28, 3 kids, working 12+ hour days/nights/weekends. I want to change it all so I’ve dabbled in Python already and just started HTML this week. I’m done with working so hard for so little financial freedom and reward. This video really helped set some expectations for me so thank you dude

  19. Im gonna study in the hyperbolic time chamber for 6 months

  20. I'm trying to change my career and go into software development. I'm a veteran, aircraft mechanic working as a sheetmetal mechanic. I have no experience in IT but I'm passionate about this and I'm ready to do what I need to do. I've got the ability to get my school paid for for being a veteran. But I have to work full time to provide for my family and pay my bills.

What's the best course of action for me to get into this as soon as possible? Go to college? Do a bootcamp class?

    Thank you.

  21. Hey Chris… Thanks for being so open and sharing this tips. Really gave me some perspective! 👍

  22. Great video, I just got promoted at my job in doing Java and HTML , I have no experience lol , but I got the role because of my experience within the company and they’re going to teach me how to code.

  23. Left my like n comment dude

  28. Starting today I’m going to build up following this structure of learning by

  29. Thanks for the tips 🙂

  30. This was motivational for me

  31. My biggest takeaway is to practice coding like building more landing pages.

  32. Bro there is yt channel @codewithharry it's in our language but the teaching and the high quality experience is just beyond levels have a look at it. ⚡

  33. What do you think about transitioning from digital marketing to development? Is it a good idea to leave a career that pays well and is easy for one that is challenging and will pay better in the future?

  34. Great motivational video, thanx. Keep up the good work. Off learning code…..

  35. One answer: Build projects

  36. So I know the video is more than a year old at this point, but I wanted to say that I watched it all the way through. I have recently started changing my life to try to do something that I love rather than just something to pay the bills. I have always had a deep love for coding, but couldn't figure out how to get into the game when I could barely keep a roof over my own head. Your suggestions for building landing pages and learning React from the documentation has definitely given me the push I needed to start applying for jobs soon.

    Thank you

  37. Good video but why would you ever tell your employer that you only learned for 6th months? You obviously want to lie and say you trained for 1-2 years, they're not gonna go back in time to know whether you're telling the truth or not.

  38. Chris! Thank you so much for breaking this down! As someone whos been flirting with code and development for the last couple of years this really helps. It's a sea of confusion, knowing what to learn and how. It's also really easy to get trapped in tutorial hell and to constantly switch languages bc someone told you "Ruby is dead" or something like that. I'm the type of person that likes a clear roadmap, and you just gave me one! Thanks, man!

  39. Sorry, but this sounds like a sure fire formula to frustrate people straight out of their goals.
    2 – 3 months of HTML/CSS
    2 months of JS
    2 months of building
Divide your days up so you can also carve out time to learn "a bit of"
    1. Github
    2. A CSS framework
    3. A JS framework
    4. SQL

Good luck gang. You gotta be all about this if you're ever going to make it in this field.

  40. Not even 1 word about coded dread from he disappeared from YouTube.
    I missed that Fool.

  41. Thank you so much for this video Chris.

  42. Your story is inspiring me because I’m essentially in the exact position you were in. I’m 19 I got my associates and a job in a field of work I hate. I’m trying to start a new career and I’m willing to work my ass off for it. Thanks for the advice. Hope you the best and wish me luck!

  43. Thanks very much your right you have a new subscriber
